Terms of Service
Last updated: 8 August 2026
Audiowire has not been released and cannot currently be bought. These terms are published in advance so they can be read before anyone is asked to agree to anything; the payment and renewal clauses describe how a purchase will work, not a purchase that is available today.
Agreement
These terms govern your use of Audiowire (“the Software”), provided by dfacto.ai. By installing or using the Software you agree to them. If you do not agree, do not use the Software.
What the Software does
Audiowire creates virtual audio devices on your computer and routes audio into them from applications, hardware inputs and other virtual devices. It runs entirely on your machine. It is not a service, it has no server component, and no audio passes through any system operated by us or by a third party.
Recording other people
The Software can capture audio produced by other applications, including calls and meetings. Laws on recording conversations differ by country and by state, and in many places recording a conversation without the consent of the participants is a criminal offence. You are solely responsible for obtaining whatever consent the law requires where you are, and for complying with the terms of any service you record. Because the Software runs entirely on your device, we have no visibility into what you capture and no ability to intervene.
Licence
Subject to payment where applicable, you are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the Software on the number of machines stated in your tier — 3 for Standard, 5 for Pro. The Linux build is licensed at no charge and requires no key. You may not resell, sublicense or redistribute paid builds. Third-party components retain their own licences, listed in the repository.
Acceptable use
You may not use the Software to break any law, to record people who have not consented where consent is required, or to circumvent access controls on content you are not entitled to. See the Acceptable Use Policy.
Payment and upgrades
When purchasing becomes available, paid licences will be billed through our merchant of record, who is the seller of record for your purchase. Licences are perpetual one-time purchases, not subscriptions: there is nothing to renew and nothing to cancel. Updates within a major version are included; a major-version upgrade is a separate, optional purchase, and a licence you already hold keeps working whether or not you buy it.
Disclaimer
The Software is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. It is pre-release software that has never been shipped, has not been signed or notarised, and does not currently route audio on macOS or Windows. Audio performance depends on your hardware, your operating system and other software on the machine; we do not guarantee any particular latency, channel count, stability or compatibility.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from your use of the Software is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim. We are not liable for lost recordings, missed streams or interrupted sessions.
Changes
We may update these terms. Material changes will be posted here with a revised date before taking effect.
